Mac on Linux

Mac on Linuxhttp://www.maconlinux.org/
mol 0.9.68 -- 10 mars 2003, 1625 ko (.tgz)
Mac-On-Linux lets you run MacOS under PowerPC Linux (i.e.: Yellow Dog Linux, LinuxPPC, etc.) on PowerPC based machines. Since it runs natively on the processor, it is very fast. Unlike most Mac emulators, Mac-on-Linux runs MacOS 8.6 and later WITHOUT A ROM IMAGE. To run earlier versions, a ROM-image is probably needed.

VMWare Build 135 23 avril 1999
VMWare allows you to run 'virtual machines' inside Linux. It is not an emulator. It provides a virtual computer within Linux which can boot whichever OS you decide to put on the filesystem image that is used as a harddrive. It will run DOS 6.22, Win 3.1, Win95, Win98, WinNT 4, Windows 2000 beta, Linux (many flavours), and more. The only main requirement is a P-II 266 or better, along with lots of ram (64 Mb minimum, 128 Mb recommended).

Wine HeadQuarters

Version développement Wine-20000526 -- 26 mai 2000, 4,3Mo (.tar.gz)
Wine Is Not an Emulator, it is an alternative implementation of the Windows 3.x and Win32 APIs. Wine provides both a development toolkit (Winelib) for porting legacy Windows sources to Unix and a program loader, allowing unmodified Windows 3.1/95/NT binaries to run under Intel Unixes. Wine does not require Microsoft Windows, as it is a completely alternative implementation consisting of 100% Microsoft Free code, but it can optionally use native system DLLs if they are available.
