SoundApp est une petite application capable de lire tous les fichiers sonores suivants : SoundCap (inclus Huffman-compressed), SoundEdit (inclus stereo, MACE-3 et MACE-6), AIFF, AIFF-C (MACE-3, MACE-6, IMA 4:1 et µ-law), System 7 sound, QuickTime MooV (soundtracks seulement, inclus MIDI movies), Sun Audio AU et NeXT .snd (inclus µ-law, a-law, 8- et 16-bit linear, G.721 et G.723 ADPCM), Windows WAVE (inclus GSM-, IMA- et MS ADPCM-compressed, µ-law et a-law), MPEG audio (layers I, II et III, nécessite un Power Macintosh), Sound Blaster VOC, plusieurs variétées de MODs, ScreamTracker 3 modules (S3M), Multitracker module (MTM), MIDI (type 0, 1 and 2, inclus GS and XG), Amiga IFF/8SVX (inclus compressée), Sound Designer II, IRCAM, PSION sound files, DVI ADPCM, Raw GSM, Studio Session Instruments et 'snd ' resources (inclus MACE-3, MACE-6, IMA 4:1 et µ-law).
SoundApp peut aussi convertir tous ces formats vers System 7 sound (linear, µ-law et IMA encodings), sound suitcase (linear, µ-law et IMA encodings), AIFF (linear, µ-law et IMA encodings), WAVE (linear, µ-law et IMA encodings), Sun Audio (linear et µ-law encodings), NeXT (linear et µ-law encodings), Sound Designer et QuickTime (linear, µ-law et IMA encodings) formats.
SoundApp supporte aussi toutes les conversions générique de QuickTime. Il possède un système de liste et de conversion par lots. Qui dit mieux !
Mais attention, il existe encore des formats de fichiers sonores qu'il ne reconnait pas : Certains fichiers MIDI ou IFF entre autres.
SoundApp can play or convert files dropped onto it in a variety of formats. In addition, it supports Play Lists which are lists of sound files that can be saved for later usage. Files in a Play List can be played or converted as a group or individually. SoundApp supports a randomized shuffle playback mode and repeated playback of Play Lists.

SoundApp can convert all of these formats except MIDI to System 7 sound and sound suitcase (linear, µ-law, MACE-3, MACE-6 and IMA encodings), AIFF (linear, µ-law, MACE-3, MACE-6 and IMA encodings), WAVE (linear, µ-law, a-law and IMA encodings), Sun Audio and NeXT (linear, µ-law and a-law encodings), Sound Designer II, QuickTime (linear, µ-law, MACE-3, MACE-6 and IMA encodings), Psion Series 3 and EPOC 32 (Psion Series 5) sound formats. SoundApp can also convert MPEG files on a 680x0 Macintosh, although it cannot play them. SoundApp also supports generic QuickTime conversion, which allows any QuickTime-recognized format to be converted to a QuickTime movie file and any QuickTime movie to be converted to an AIFF sound file. These two features are provided as a convenience, as they are entirely handled via QuickTime.
